Home again, landed at Heathrow just after ten this morning and we're all absolutely exhausted from the flight and the trip! It's so weird to be home but also really nice, had the most amazing time; and just like before I instantly wish I was back in the city walking down fifth avenue with a Starbucks in my hand.
New York is definately the experience of a lifetime.
My 'to do' list is huge (starting with unpacking!) but for now i'm turning my laptop and my phone off, putting some pyjamas on and getting some much needed sleep - jet lag is nobody's friend. Tasks for tomorrow consist of looking through all the photos and memories that came from this last week, and getting ready to feel nostalgic.
So it's night night New York City..it's been lovely. Hope to see you again someday :)

JFK Departures
Arrived safe and sound with luggage in tow at JFK airport, ready and checked in for departures. Now sitting in the departure lounge, can see FMB's Virgin Atlantic flight outside waiting to take off! Everyone's sad to go and by the sound of it has had as great a time as we have, all the FCP girls are looking through pictures and rummaging through hand luggage, or flicking through copies of Now, Glamour and Vogue. (standard fashion students!) Lucy, Julia, Hannah, Carrie and I are sat in a circle (discussing men) when we realise that actually....we're in completely the other end of the lounge to anyone else we know, and we appear to be waiting with a group boarding a plane to the far east. Excellent news.
Me and Luce head to the nearest food outlet for dinner, (burgers seem like the best way forward) so after talking for ages to a transfixed American waiter (no, we are not sisters, and yes, thank you, we are aware our accent is sexy to you) we leave with our dinner and head back to the others. It is only when we have sat back down ready to eat that Lucy lets out a shriek (again, standard) and everyone turns to look. Oh God. "WHAT is THAT!!?" That, Lucy, is the biggest gherkin you'll ever see.
Once the offending gherkin has been removed and we've spent about an hour mopping up the huge spillage of coke that SOMEONE (LucyBudgecough.)spilled all over the floor, we head for the sweet shop to stock up on in - flight goodies.
This is going to be a long flight! See you when we get back to the U.K!

Bye, bye, New York City
Blogging from the phone in the hotel lobby.... me, jen and becca have just spent our last hours (and dollars) in midtown and 5th, and are now sufficiently exhausted (and skint). said bye to jen at around 1, which was sad as would have been nice to all have been on the same flight, but we'll see her when we get back to uni in 2 days.
Had a mass packing session in room 12 last night! Had to get Jenny to pack for me and Becca to sit on my suitcase, I genuinely have no idea how i'm going to get it all back through to the UK, let alone through London on the tube and then home. I swear I'm over the limit....oh dear.
After we said bye to jen, Bex and I headed to Macy's and I bought a foundation from perscriptives, as they're closing down and selling all their skin minerals range on the cheap, and we found an amazing magazine shop which sells every fashion magazine you could want! Bought a copy of Nylon to read on the plane. Just waiting for the rest of FCP, and the coach.
update later, on the coach!

Uptown, Downtown, turn the beat around town....
I can't believe it's our last day tomorrow!! (well, today, if you count the time difference) It seems like we only got here yesterday! Spent today with Jen and Lexie, which was really nice. We did uptown and midtown, bits of everything really. It's SO cold, i actually can't believe how freezing it is here. Bought some nice things today....went to the huge Juicy store on 5th (a-mazing) and got a ring for mum, hopefully it fits! if not i'm definately shotgunning that one. Stocked up on underwear in H&M as well, they've got a sale on and its so much cheaper than at home; oh and I bought THE BEST COAT! It's a beige fur, $20 thank you very much! it's literally my new favourite thing. Got some ripped leggings from forever 21 as well, excellent.
Visited all the major shops on the list today, walked all the way down to the meat packing district (very trendy!) to go to Balenciaga and Commes Des Garcons, now we're exhausted! had a really nice dinner though, in the mexican restaurant just round the corner from the hotel which was a cross between the setting of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and 50 first dates. All food here is huge! We all had nachos to share and a burrito each...I could have rolled home. Think i'm going to go home a stone heavier at this rate.
As tomorrow's our last day me, Jen and Becca have decided to spend it together; Jenny's flight leaves a couple of hours before ours so we're getting up early! 8am start, shower, breakfast (muffins! again....oh god) and straight out! The plan is to stay in midtown and just go back to the shops we want to get our last few bits from.....I feel a tourist session coming on. Had such an amazing time so far....I don't want to leave. England will never match New York!

Downtown, where the lights are bright.....
Today me and Jen decided to do our own thing and venture downtown, to Soho, Noho and Canal Street; left around 11 and went straight to get a bagel(!)crispy bacon and cream cheese....yum. Walked the entire stretch of the city (well, a good half of it) from 31st and 5th to 1st avenue! Went to ABC and Prada on 3rd which were beautiful, spent a good 40 mins in Forever 21 and the last part of the day got lost in Century 21, where I bought Marc Jacobs' latest perfume, Lola, for my mum. Trekked down canal street in search of a Louis Vuitton for me and a Mulberry for jen, but sadly left dissapointed! Sorry but no, I will not get in your van mate, I'd rather lick the road.
On our way back from canal street we made a pit stop at American Topshop! Hello buy one get one free shoe sale.....yes please. Bought 2 pairs of beautiful shoes, some black suade ankle boots and some gorgeous cream killer heels with bows all over them; a huge blue leather luggage bag and a cream Christopher Kane scarf. Yessss. decided it was too cold/ too much effort to walk the rest of the way home so jumped in a taxi....ahhh comfort.
Back at the hotel and neither of us feel great, Becca's gone out so we decide to order in; Chinese it is! it even comes in the little white cardboard boxes! Unfortunately it's not brilliant chinese, but still, it was a good idea - room service and everything. Carrie, Hannah and Lucy drop in to look at our bargains, and we sit up chatting for a bit, they did uptown today! talk for a while but they feel pretty ill too, so we all say goodnight. Decided we're going to hit uptown tomorrow...5th avenue here we come!
Night all

Wake up, It's a beautiful morning.....
Day two in New York city, wake up at 08.30 (killer, although it is 1.30pm our time!) and all 3 of us drag ourselves out of bed in an attempt to be downstairs and ready for 10am, heading to the FIT! I've been before but not to see these particular exhibitions. Lots of very sleepy FCP/FMB girls all pile into the lobby downstairs to find an array of muffins (good call!) and tea/coffee, so we stock up and head out, it's literally freezing and we make our first starbucks stop on the way....hello skinny mocha....mmmmm.
Inside the FIT we split into two and got to look at 2 different exhibitions; Day & Night and American Beauty. Both were beautiful, really old garments had been preserved for hundreds of years. Spent about an hour looking at the exhibiions, and then headed down the road to madison square gardens to try and get knicks tickets for tonight! Unfortunately it wasn't an option.... $60 per ticket and the seats weren't together, so we thought we'd give it a miss.
The next part of the day was spent in midtown, Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, Abercrombie & Fitch and 5th avenue were some of the main stops! We got a few look books and took photos, but by about 5pm me and Lucy were flagging majorly! We found ourselves just next to the Plaza, outside central park, and in on a spontaneous decision ended up in two horse and carts touring the park. Pretty, but for someone with a fear of horses I wouldn't do it again! decided it was time for dinner, so me, lucy, carrie, hannah, julia and josh got taxis to times square and ate at Dave & Busters, on west 42nd between 7/8th. Cheeseburgers all round?
Back at the hotel after a long day of shopping and being tourists, so catching up with Becca and Jen about their days and getting ready for bed. Tomorrow is definately going to involve more shopping so I need sleep to restore my energy! More updates tomorrow.

The City
I forgot how much I love New York City.
When you get that first sighting as you pull in to the city....its amazing. The coach turned round the corner into central Manhatten and everyone just stopped talking! It's beautiful.
We've just got back to our hotel after a very long day; up at 5am , then 3 hours to get to heathrow, check in, finally left heathrow at 1, landed at JFK at 4.30pm (9.30pm english time) got to the hotel and briefly unpacked at about 6.30, then me and Becca headed out to explore. Our hotel is really close to the Empire State buliding, on 31st and 5th, so we were really central. We walked around for a while exploring, getting distracted by Sephora! And various other shops. Ended up in Times Square.....many pictures were taken! Concluded we were starving so had a cheeky McDonalds and walked back to the hotel where we found Jen in our room; havn't seen her since we left Notingham just before christmas so was really good to catch up.
Shattered now as I've been up for nearly 24 hours....its nearly 4am by my body clock. Bedtime needs to happen!

Landed at JFK!!
Just got off the plane after 7 or so hours flight time! slept for most of it so feel pretty rough now.....just got our baggage and now on the coach to the hotel, will probs get there sooner than planned; (if the driver carries on the way he's going, we might not make it at all) it's 4.30 pm here....(9.30pm at home!) so feels wierd that it's still really light outside. Me, Luce, Carrie and Hannah are watching the suburbs of Manhatten from the window.....round the corner in about 5 mins and we'll be able to see our first view of the city :) :) <3

Check - In
Finally at heathrow with the girls! Think that was officially the most stressed i've been in a while, all the tube lines started getting suspended while i was on them!! massive delays due to adverse weather conditions, of all the days it had to be today!! I was actually beginning to wonder if the flight would even be leaving at all, but thankfully it all seems to be running according to schedule! for a while it seemed like the city was just going to stop. Just found out they've closed Gatwick airport!? what the hell is going on!?
Just waiting in the queue with Alice to check in.....so i'll say bye for a while. See you in New York! :)

Jen scared me slightly this morning with a hysterical text sayings she was snowed in and couldnt get to the airport, but have since spoken to her and she's on her way! No snow this end, safely on the train to London....not long to go now! :)
